CURRENT RTPC ATHLETES


The primary aim of the training center is to provide Junior and U23 athletes with the appropriate volume of training and advanced technical and tactical skills needed to make the transition into international draft legal racing. 

The Triathlon Performance Centre provides athletes with competitive, high-performance coaching, strength and conditioning, skill and tactical acquisition, mental training, and advanced goal setting. We provide a world class environment within the MNP Community and Sport Centre in downtown Calgary.

 

 Triathlon Performance Centre Goals & Objectives

• To nurture the love of multisport while promoting excellence in sport.

• To optimize high-performance athletes’ platform to excel in international and Olympic/Paralympic competitions while inspiring the next generation of athletes.

• To support Triathlon Canada’s strategic goal to win three Olympic medals and three Paralympic medals at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. 

• To recruit and develop talent from within our community, province, and country to produce a competitive and world class talent pool available for Triathlon Canada for international racing.

• To make high-performance and international level coaching, training, and racing more readily available for athletes across the country.

Our World Class Facility – MNP Community & Sport Centre

MNP Community & Sport Centre offers a world class training environment to numerous national and regional sport partners, including several Olympic and Paralympic athletes and medalists. Their mandate is to provide the training and competition facilities for the development of high-performance athletes within our region.

 

Facilities available to the Triathlon Performance Centre:

• 2 X 50m full size indoor swimming pools

• 200m indoor track

• Triathlon-specific training centre (including treadmills & Wahoo Trainers)

• Strength & conditioning centre

• 5 indoor gymnasiums

• Competition level dive tank

• Sport recovery cold tub, hot tub, and steam room

• In-house physiotherapy & food services

Within an hour of the city centre, you can some of the world’s best cycling and skiing in Canmore, Banff, and Bragg Creek.  Home to the Calgary Stampede and Host of the 1988 Winter Olympics, Calgary has a rich sports history and boasts numerous world class facilities.

There is no shortage of places to train in Calgary. The city has over 1000km of paved cycling pathways, 9000 hectares of park, 15 competition pools (not including 12 additional training pools within the city), and numerous world class training facilities.
