Mission Statement To provide professional coaching that follows the balanced training philosophy set forth by Triathlon Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model in a competitive and supportive team environment. What following the Long Term Athlete Development Model means to our members: Youth: technical mastery of motor skills necessary for future success in triathlon Adults: transition from varied athletic backgrounds into activity for life participation in triathlon Members From top Ironman and Olympic distance age-groupers, to junior elites and novice KOS athletes, our members have competed in a number of triathlon races and aim to improve their fitness, skills, and performance to achieve their personal best. Kronos believes in giving back to the triathlon community. Every year, we organize the Calgary Kids of Steel event on the first Sunday in June. We expect all members to either participate or volunteer at the race. Every 18 months or so, we also work at the Stampede Casino as a fundraising event for the club. Our next casino is slated for November 5th & 6th, 2011 and every family is expected to work a shift. What types of Memberships are offered? Society members are alumni, parents, athletes, and community members interested in the club. Society members receive periodic updates from the club and are eligible to vote at Kronos meetings. Fees are $10 per annum. Society members are highly encouraged to volunteer at Kronos’ events.

members who are also training full- or part-time with the club. All club

Casino & Funding Kronos’ main sources of income are the casino fund and training fees. In order to provide affordable training to our athletes, training fess is set primarily to cover only the facility costs and administrative and miscellaneous costs like website. The casino fund pays for coaching fees and the Calgary Kids of Steel race. Without sufficient casino funds, the club cannot afford to hire qualified coaches to run our programs. Our 2006/07 casino was a huge success - thank to our members and their families. The fund has enabled us to put on an improved training program and establish a partnership with the Jewish Community Centre. We’re looking towards to another great casino this year to continue our program and add new services to better serve our members.
