Our 2017/2018 season programs will be announced on july 10th.

general registration will open august 1st, 2017.

 

We have a variety of triathlon programs that will help you and your youth achieve their racing potential:

 
Long Term Athlete Development Model Club Progress

First day of the 2017/2018 season will be Sunday October 15, 2017.

 

Kids of Steel (KOS) Fall/Winter Sessions (8-11 yrs):  Monthly $350, Weekly $600

This program is perfect for athletes who are brand new to triathlon or may be involved in other sports during the winter months.

Prerequisites: Must be able to swim 50m unassisted, athletes need bike trainer for indoor bike sessions the second half of the winter session

Practice Times

Winter

Weekly Tuesday session: 6-8:00PM @ JCC (Nov- Jan Run/Games/Swim; Feb – Apr Indoor Bike/Swim)

OR

One Tuesday per month: 6-8:00PM @ JCC (Run/Games & Swim)

(November 6th through April 30th for Weekly; Nov 7, Dec 5, Jan 9, Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 3 for Monthly KOS squad)

This program is perfect for athletes who are brand new to triathlon or may be involved in other sports during the winter months.  This program is also a great introduction to the Youth Development Squad as Sunday practices will be alongside that group.

Sundays: 2:30-5:30pm @ MRU (Run & Swim)

One Sunday per month: 2:30-5:30pm @ MRU (Run & Swim)

(November 5th through April 30th for Weekly; Nov 5, Dec 3, Jan 7, Feb 4, Mar 4, Apr 1 for Monthly KOS squad)

 

 

KOS Spring Camp (8-13 yrs):  $350 per athlete

This program is perfect for athletes who are brand new to triathlon or may be involved in other sports during the spring and summer months.

Prerequisites: Must be able to swim 50m unassisted

Tuesday & Thursday PM – Swim & Run @ JCC, Bike @ North Glenmore Park 

**Camp runs for 6 weeks and finishes with a Kids of Steel race within the community**

 

 

Summer Day Camp (8-13 yrs):  Price TBD

This is a full day program for young athletes who want an in-depth summer program.

Prerequisites: Must be able to swim 50m unassisted, must have bike in working condition.

Practice Times

July 9 – 20, Mon – Fri, 8:30 – 4:00 daily (Swim, Bike, Run, Games)

 

 

Youth Development Squad (11-15 yrs):   $1600 per season

The Youth Development Squad is for athletes under 14 yrs, OR those 14-15 (Youth-aged) athletes who are new to triathlon.  This group focuses on the development of triathlon through technique-based sessions and age-appropriate training.

Prerequisites:  Ability to swim 200m un-aided.  Must have a road bike, either personal or through the Future Champions Program (Argon18/SpeedTheory Calgary/Kronos)

Indoor months (Oct-April)*

Tuesday - Bike 6-7:00PM at JCC & Swim 7–8:30PM at JCC

Wednesday - Indoor Run @ MRU 7-8:30pm (Outdoors 5:30-7:00pm in Oct & spring when weather warms up)

Thursday –Swim 8-9:00PM at MRU (South squad members; Begins in November)

Friday – Swim 6-7:00AM FHP (North squad members; Begins in November)

Sunday - Run & Swim 2:30–5:30PM at MRU

Outdoor Months (May-Aug)*

Monday- Bike 5-7:00PM Glenmore Oval **optional, additional fees**

Wednesday - Outdoor Run Time/Location TBD

Thursday - Outdoor bike at North Glenmore Park. Group A (Fundamentals) 5-6:00PM, Group B (Development) 6-7:00PM, Group C (Performance) 7:00-8:30pm *(athletes will be grouped based on skill level into 1 of 3 levels)*

Thursday – 8-9:00PM Swim @ MRU

Sunday - Run & Swim 2:30–5:30PM at MRU, June/July/Aug open water swims only

Junior Performance Squad (14-17 yrs):   $1800 per season

The Junior Performance Squad is for athletes racing Youth Draft Legal events, as well as 16-17 year olds who are new to triathlon (and meet program prerequisites). Approval by coach(es) required.  This program is meant to be a transitional group bridging the gap between our Development and Performance squads.

Prerequisites:  Must be able to swim 400m in under 7:35, and have cycling experience

Monday – Strength & Conditioning 5-6:00PM at Athlete Factory

Tuesday – Swim 6-7:30am FHP

Wednesday- Indoor Run @ MRU 7-8:30pm (Outdoors 5:30-7:00pm in Oct & spring when weather warms up)

Thursday - Swim 6–7:30AM at FHP & Indoor Cycling 4:45-6:30PM Revolution Spin Studio

Saturday – Indoor Cycle 9-11:00AM (mid-January/February/March)

Sunday – Run & Swim 2:30–5:30PM at MRU

Outdoor months (May-Aug)*

Monday - Bike 5-7:00PM Glenmore Oval (optional, additional fee)

This program is for older youth athletes who are focusing on draft-legal short course racing. This program requires approval by the Kronos Club Performance Coach and Head Coach prior to registration.

Prerequisites:  Swim (400m) in sub 6:48, Run (3K) in under 14:30

Monday - Strength & Conditioning 5-6:00PM Athlete Factory

Tuesday - Swim 6–7:30AM at FHP & Bike 4:45-6:45PM at Revolution Spin Studio

U26 Elite Performance Squad (18-26 yrs.):   $2000 per season

This program is geared towards Collegiate-aged athletes who are focusing on elite and age-group draft legal short course racing.  This program requires approval by the Kronos Club Performance Coach and Head Coaches prior to registration.

Prerequisites:  Swim (400m) in under 6:00, Run (3K) in under 12:00

Masters Performance Squad (18 yrs +):   $2000 for season

This program is geared towards all adult-aged triathletes who want a very hands-on approach to their triathlon training program.  These athletes will enjoy being pushed within the club atmosphere, and pushing for personal best and top age group performances.

Prerequisites:  Swim (400m) in under 8:00, Run (3K) in under 15:00

Indoor months (Oct-April)*

Tuesday - Swim 6-7:30AM at FHP

Wednesday- Indoor Run @ MRU 7-8:30pm (Outdoors 5:30-7:00pm in Oct & spring when weather warms up)

Thursday - Swim 6-7:30AM at FHP & Bike 5-6:30PM at Revolution Spin Studio

Friday - Swim 6-7:30AM at ING (Begins in November)

Saturday - Indoor Cycle 9-11:00AM (5-6 weekends in Jan-March, Dates TBD)

Adult Active for Life Program (18+, 16/17 yrs with coach’s permission):   $1600 for season

This program is for the adult triathlete who enjoys training with a group and coach, but also needs the flexibility of an OYO (on-your-own) program prescribed by the Kronos coaching staff via Training Peaks.

Wednesday - Indoor Run @ MRU 7-8:30pm (Outdoors 5:30-7:00pm in Oct & spring when weather warms up)

Sunday - Swim 4-5:30PM MRU

*Fit for life athletes have the option to participate in indoor cycling sessions Thursdays 4:45-6:30PM @ Revolution Spin Studio (dependent on studio space)

Evening Swim Club/Parent Swim Club (18+)   $1000/season for non-parents/$600 for athlete-parents

This evening swim program is for adults wanting to improve their swim technique, as well as for parents of Kronos athletes who want some additional swim coaching.  Parents of current Kronos athletes receive a discounted rate for the Evening Swim Program

Prerequisites: Ability to swim 200m unassisted.

Practice Times

Monday/Wednesday 8-9pm MRU

 

 

Elite/University Student Pass   $50/month

This pass allows elite athletes/returning university students to train with the Kronos Triathlon Club throughout the season when in Calgary

**Athletes must be approved by Kronos coach(es) and must adhere to agreed upon schedule and expectations
